Alex Ross is our new agricultural area sales manager, based at T H WHITE Stourport.
Taking the reins from Neil Boyd who has retired, Alex brings experience and energy to his new role in which he will be taking our flagship brands – New Holland, Manitou, Kverneland and Ktwo among others – to customers across Worcestershire, South Shropshire and Staffordshire.
Very much a ‘hands-on’ manager, Alex trained as an agricultural engineer in Hereford before gaining practical skills on a local beef and arable mixed farm. In his early years, a desire to travel took him ‘down under’ where he was able to experience farming on a much larger scale, setting him up for an agricultural career back in the UK.
During 15 years with agricultural contractor J D Pritchard in Kington, Herefordshire, Alex worked on wide ranging jobs for customers which gave him first-hand experience of machinery, including combines, tractors and telehandlers to implements and sprayers. He became a dab hand at running repairs on machinery and was even involved in running a beef finishing unit.
The farming community is important to Alex who joined Hereford Young Farmers at the start of his career and eventually became county chairman. In his spare time Alex enjoys clay shooting and visiting vintage machinery shows.
Alex’s appointment is part of a programme of enhancement and investment being made by T H WHITE, further strengthening the Stourport business since it was acquired from Murley last year. Refurbishment work on the branch is due to begin in the autumn; direct benefits to customers will include a greatly enlarged parts store with a larger stockholding and new equipment to expand our workshop capabilities.
Service enhancement is a key element of the changes and we are recruiting a second service manager to provide one focused on Agriculture and the other on Construction. Alex knows that buying a machine is just the start – T H WHITE’s aftersales proposition gives customers the confidence that their machine will be looked after for its lifetime.
