The 2017 Geneva Motor Show was the venue for an exciting and important new launch from Jeep.
The all-new Jeep Compass features a striking new design and takes Jeep straight to the top of the league for off-road capability in the rapidly-growing compact SUV segment. When the Jeep Compass arrives in the UK this summer it will be offered with a choice of diesel or petrol engines and eight different powertrain combinations including a six-speed manual and ninespeed automatic.
Four trims will be available: Sport, Longitude, top-of-the-range Limited, and Trailhawk, offering best-in-class Trail-Rated 4×4 capability.
The new Jeep’s considerable abilities are matched by user friendly technologies and a full array of active driver assist systems to ensure a safe, comfortable and connected everyday driving experience.
Inside the new Jeep Compass refined materials set the tone, while the centre stack houses either 5.0, 7.0 or 8.4-inch touchscreen displays of the Uconnect system. This delivers communication, entertainment and navigation features that enhance both the driving experience and passengers’ on board comfort, while new Apple CarPlay and Android Auto (standard on the Limited and Trailhawk models) enable hands-free phone, navigation and voice-texting.
But the most remarkable aspect of the all-new Jeep Compass is its off-road capability, made possible by two advanced, intelligent full-time 4×4 systems: the Jeep Active Drive and the Jeep Active Drive Low. Both can send 100 per cent of available torque to any one wheel when needed and include the Jeep Selec-Terrain system, providing up to five modes for different surfaces, while Jeep Active Drive Low has an additional 20:1 ‘crawl’ ratio.
Customers who would like an interactive preview of the new Compass will shortly be able to try an innovative experience at our Swindon Fiat Group Brand Centre. Based on Tango – Google’s smartphone augmented reality technology – the easy-to-use application will allow customers to discover and virtually interact with the all-new Compass.
