PLOUGHING – AS IT USED TO BE

by T H WHITE on November 1, 2017

Once again the Avebury & District Ploughing Match proved a highly popular and nostalgic event.

Held this year on 23 September at David Hues’ farm near Beckhampton, the fair-weather day produced a fine showing of vintage machinery with several splendid Fords and Fordsons of different eras, not to mention a mildly competitive atmosphere of bonhomie! Thanks are due to the Committee for organising the event and the Hues family for hosting it. Look out for next
year’s ploughing match in September – date to be announced.
