Devizes, Wiltshire – The Rt Hon Kemi Badenoch MP, Leader of HM Official Opposition and the Conservative Party, visited engineering services provider T H WHITE Group in Devizes today as part of her tour of local Wiltshire businesses ahead of the upcoming local elections.

Joining the Conservative leader were Danny Kruger, MP for East Wiltshire and Councillor Richard Clewer, Leader of Wiltshire Council.
Welcomed by Alexander Scott, CEO of T H WHITE Group, and Ian Childs, Palfinger UK Production Director, Mrs Badenoch was given a guided tour of the Devizes site, home to several of the Group’s businesses: Palfinger UK, T H WHITE Projects, and T H WHITE Energy, Fire & Security, as well as the company’s central functions team.

During the visit, the delegation met with members of the T H WHITE leadership team from other businesses, including Adrian Lovegrove and Mason Hatton (Divisional Directors), along with Jane Fowler and Joe McTiernan heading up the Finance and HR departments. Discussions focussed on the opportunities and challenges facing Wiltshire businesses, particularly in the engineering and agricultural sectors.

T H WHITE Group, with a history spanning nearly 200 years, is a major regional and national employer and a key contributor to multiple industries including agriculture, dairy, construction, energy, fire & security. Serving the farming community is also a prominent topic for discussion. Originally established as an agricultural ironmonger, the company continues to play a vital role in standing beside British farmers and rural communities. Mrs Badenoch expressed a strong interest in understanding both the barriers and aspirations of local enterprises, emphasising the importance of businesses like T H WHITE in shaping economic growth and informing government policy.
