We’re proud to shine the spotlight on Agricultural Engineer Jake Brown, who has recently been awarded Master Technician status in New Holland’s Combine class – a fantastic achievement that reflects his years of hands-on experience and commitment to New Holland machinery.
Jake’s journey into agricultural engineering began on his family farm in Essex, where his passion for machinery was sparked early. He undertook a five-year apprenticeship, gaining valuable skills and experience before making the move to Wiltshire at the age of 21. In 2000, Jake joined T H WHITE, working predominantly on the classic New Holland TX and TF models, along with the early CX and CR combines. “I had hands-on training with all those products,” he recalls. But in 2005, Jake decided to take a different path, stepping away from the tools to work as a contractor.
What followed was an impressive 18-year stretch operating New Holland combines, something Jake credits as a major advantage when he rejoined T H WHITE in 2023. “Having all those years driving them really helped when it came to fixing them again,” he says.
Jake returned after a few persistent calls from Service Manager Alastair Grierson, and was soon back in the swing of combine diagnostics and repairs- with a bit of tractor work mixed in. Since returning, he’s completed further training on combine and foragers, as well as the Cursor engine course, rounding off the final piece of his Master Technician accreditation. To mark the achievement, David Pegrum from New Holland visited our Knockdown depot to present Jake with his Master Technician certificate in person- a proud moment for both Jake and the team.
Jake’s in-depth product knowledge, practical experience and determination make him a huge asset to our team. Congratulations, Jake- well deserved!
