T H WHITE Apprentices at Royal Agricultural University

Celebrating our apprentices at our annual apprentice development days

by Ben Causley on May 18, 2026

At T H WHITE, apprentices have always played a vital role in our business, supporting staff development throughout our history and helping to build the leaders of tomorrow. They bring fresh ideas, enthusiasm and a strong desire to learn, all of which help drive progress across the group. This year, we were proud to celebrate that future by bringing our apprentices together at the Royal Agricultural University for our 2026 apprentice development days.

During two engaging days, apprentices from across the T H WHITE Group, spanning Projects, Energy Fire and Security, Palfinger and our Machinery divisions, came together to connect, learn and reflect on their development so far. Bringing apprentices from different parts of the business into one place is always a highlight, showcasing the breadth of opportunity available within T H WHITE and shining a light on the impact apprentices are making across the group.

Archie a first-year apprentice for Projects studying a Plate Welder Level 3 apprenticeship got his first taste for our apprentice day: “I am really enjoying my time at T H WHITE and eager to carry on with my apprenticeship. Today has been great so far, as I meet the other apprentices and gain valuable insights into the wider business and understand opportunities at my disposal”.

The apprentices in attendance took park in a range of activities, from knowledge-based skills test to help their current progression, wellbeing sessions, a tour of the historic Royal Agricultural University and even a friendly game of hook a duck with a SANY digger.

Speaking to our apprentices, it’s clear how key our apprenticeship programme is in the development of our staff, as they all look forward to long and successful careers with us, kick started by learning on-the-job trained by skilled mentors helping and driving them forward. Damian a 3rd year apprentice with Energy, Fire and Security was full of praise for his  apprenticeship and the opportunities at T H WHITE: “I would highly recommended apprenticeships, they are a great way to get into a trade in a structured way especially at T H WHITE with the vast amount of opportunities this diverse group brings”.

Following the tests our apprentices undertook, we’re pleased to announce the top-performing apprentices for each year group:

Year 1

Winner: Archie Pearce (T H WHITE Projects Division, Devizes)

Runner-up: Evan Hocquard (T H WHITE Agriculture Division, Marlborough)

Year 2

Winner: Connor Anderson (Palfinger UK, Falkirk)

Runner-up: Edward Bailey (Palfinger UK, Devizes)

Year 3/4

Winner: Fred Perry (T H WHITE Agriculture Division, Marlborough)

Runner-up: Bobby Whitehouse (T H WHITE Agriculture Division, Stourport)

The winners and runners up will receive credit, applied to their staff accounts to help with the purchase of tools or other equipment.

Congratulations to all our apprentices for your hard work and development!

Across the two-day event, the enthusiasm and determination shown by our apprentices was clear to see. Their eagerness to learn, grow and succeed reflects the bright future ahead. We’re extremely proud of the attitude and commitment they bring to their roles every day. Whether supporting projects on-site, working in our workshops or operating out in the field, T H WHITE apprentices continue to play an important part in the business through their hard work, fresh thinking and positive approach.
