PETER HOLROYD CLOCKS UP 50 YEARS WITH T H WHITE
TH White - Holroyd_Photo_Final_for_ws.jpgPeter’s achievement of working for engineering group T H White for 50 years was celebrated at the Knockdown branch near Tetbury on the afternoon of Thursday 24th September.

Peter, the son of a Malmesbury Town Surveyor and a music teacher left school immediately after his O’levels to begin his apprenticeship with the agricultural branch at Wootton Bassett in 1959 which subsequently became a main dealer for the Group’s Land Rover franchise in 1983.

The Sherston agricultural branch opened in 1964 with Peter joining as the workshop foreman in 1966. In 1978 he moved to Thornbury branch to work in parts , transferring to Knockdown (previously Sherston) when Thornbury closed in 2006. Although Peter had reached retirement age in 2007 he decided to remain at work and is now a point of contact for customers in the Thornbury area. Peter lives in Malmesbury and enjoys cars and spending time with his sister and her family.

Although T H White has 90 staff who have been employed for over 20 years, not many people reach the 50 year milestone so for this reason Peter was presented with a special award by David Scott, Group Managing Director.
