The successful candidate will work as part of an enthusiastic team based in Frome, carrying out dairy servicing and repair work in our trading area. An electrical or mechanical background would be an advantage and knowledge of the dairy industry would be preferred but is not essential as full training will be given. We have an opportunity for a school leaver to join an experienced team of mechanics and to qualify as a professional grass machinery engineer at our Arborfield Branch near Reading. To work in a busy workshop servicing and repairing professional grass machinery and compact tractors, dealing with golf course, local authority and privately owned homes as our core customers. We run a comprehensive apprenticeship scheme for school leavers who are aged 16-18 and are well motivated and competent in practical skills and have obtained good grades at school. Apprenticeships are usually for 4 years and incorporate block release at College. On completion students will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 and most go on to achieve Level 3 - this is the equivalent of A Level qualifications. This training route suits students who prefer a more \'hands on\' approach to learning. Suggested Qualifications: GCSE grade C in maths, science and english.
