Graduate and Undergraduate Training
Graduate Training Scheme
We believe strongly in providing graduate trainees with as broad a background as possible on the Company's activities. Most Trainees spend time in the Service, Parts and Sales departments. Those wanting to be involved with fixed equipment would also spend time on site and in the drawing office.
Training periods vary, but the average time would be between one and two years. Trainees would normally work at a number of branches, experiencing various facets of the Company's different divisions. This provides them with the opportunity to meet as many staff as possible and understand what their jobs entail.
Undergraduate Work Experience Training
We believe that for some undergraduates, a Sandwich Course is helpful in that it provides a practical break from the academic pressure of the degree course.
We offer work experience during the year in industry, and as our Agricultural Division is particularly busy during the Summer, we find it helpful if Students can work for us during the two Summer periods and take time off for a holiday during the quieter Winter months.
We are only really interested in offering work experience to undergraduates who would seriously consider working for us after graduation. We prefer applicants to have a good level of practical skills and some workshop experience. The majority of the year would normally be spent in a role that earned money for the Company, but broad training would be provided in as many different areas of the Company as possible.
The training would be somewhat similar to that given under our graduate training scheme, and applicants should read details of the scheme to understand fully what is on offer.
