Wellow Golf Club, situated in rolling countryside near Southampton, is a family owned proprietary club featuring 27 holes split into three 9-hole courses, Ryedown, Embley and Blackwater. It has just over 600 members, of which 110 are ladies and a thriving junior section of 50.

Jonathan Windell is a director and has overall responsibility for the general management of the facilities. He has been a customer of T H White Ltd for the past five years and runs a fleet of equipment that includes a Jacobsen Greens King IV triplex mower, a Tri-King for tees and surrounds, two AR250 five-deck rotary mowers for the semi-rough and a Ransomes Commander five-reel mower for cutting fairways.

“Good communication is essential to any customer relationship and White’s are very good in this area,” Jonathan said.

“They are very efficient; if they say they will ring you back; they do! We receive regular visits from their area sales representative to keep us informed of new developments and their parts service is excellent.

“Last year I was invited to the Golf Industries Show in Atlanta as guest of White’s and Ransomes Jacobsen. I was one of around 120 golf club managers and greenkeepers on the trip and the hospitality was superb. We were able to contribute to new product development at a series of focus groups and we visited the Jacobsen manufacturing plant in Charlotte, North Carolina.
