We are looking to recruit a Workshop Foreman to lead a busy team at our Reading depot. The successful candidate will provide direction, positive management and leadership to the team and assistance (as and when necessary) to the Depot manager.
The ideal candidate will embrace and demonstrate the Company’s core values, and will have the ability to interact and build relationships with all departments and external customers. This role is key in providing a full range of Customer Service with a view to establishing Reading Groundcare as the service dealer of choice for our customers.
The Foreman will work closely with the Workshop Team to ensure the efficient, effective and productive use of staff, workshop facilities and equipment. They will also advise the team on best practice and methods of repair, determining and enforcing repair times by monitoring of work. Good housekeeping of the workshop, including reviewing risk assessments, implementation of working time regulations etc., is an essential part of this role.
As a Team Foreman, the successful candidate will also liaise with the Warranty Administrator to secure the resolution of any disputes relating to claims, and work with the Parts Team on issues affecting parts availability. The supervisory nature of this role will require you to identify training needs across the Workshop Team, conduct regular 1:1s and annual appraisals, and take reasonable care for personal and team health and safety. After appropriate training, the Foreman will also act as a site fire marshal.
