PALFINGER UK – LORRY CRANES

Reporting directly to the Body Repair Team Leader you will be responsible for the effective and efficient inspection, maintenance and repair of a wide range of commercial vehicle bodies; as part of our expanding network of mobile body repair engineers.

You will have experience of carrying out body repairs on all manner of commercial vehicles, including drop-side, curtain-side, trailers and beavertail vehicles and be capable of welding both steel & aluminum. A clean driving licence, basic computer skills and a strong working knowledge of vehicle regulations, H&S, LOLER and PUWER will be required.

The ideal candidate will be highly customer focused with good interpersonal skills and be self-motivated, flexible and well organized. A basic knowledge of ancillary equipment such as lorry loader cranes and tail lifts would be distinct advantage and a HGV driving License is desirable.

AGRICULTURE

We have opportunities for school leavers to join an experienced team of mechanics and to qualify as a professional Agricultural Engineer at many of our Agricultural branches. Specialising in New Holland machinery, we run a comprehensive apprenticeship scheme for school leavers between the age of 16 to 19 who are well motivated and competent in practical skills and have obtained good grades at school.

Apprenticeships are usually run for four years and incorporate block release for college study. On completion students will be qualified to National Diploma land based technology and LTA 2 Tech/3. Suggested minimum qualifications include GCSE Grade C in English, Maths and Science.

We are looking to recruit a Workshop Foreman to lead a busy team at our Marlborough depot. The successful candidate will provide direction, positive management and leadership to the team.

The ideal candidate will embrace and demonstrate the Company’s core values and will have the ability to interact and build relationships with all departments and external customers.

The Foreman will work closely with the Workshop Team to ensure the efficient, effective and productive use of resources, workshop facilities and equipment. They will advise the team on best practice and methods of repair, determining and enforcing repair times by monitoring of work. Good housekeeping of the workshop, including risk assessments, implementation of working time regulations and being accountable for Workshop revenue etc., are essential parts of this role.

This role includes responsibility for ensuring timely invoicing, and monthly reviews of turnover and profit, and overseeing the cost of the department.

The supervisory nature of the role will require you to identify training needs across the Workshop Team, conduct regular 1:1s and annual appraisals, and take reasonable care for personal and team health and safety.

ENERGY, FIRE & SECURITY

We are currently looking to recruit a motivated Service Engineer to join our growing Energy, Fire and Security division.

Reporting to the lead supervising engineer, the  role will service fire, security, CCTV and access control systems in Wiltshire and the surrounding counties.  The successful candidate will work on a range of premises including domestic, commercial, agricultural, retail and industrial, and will be expected to join our callout rota to provide our customers with the level of service they require.

The successful candidate must have experience in servicing fire and security systems to NVQ level 3 standard.  They will also be computer literate with a proven track record of excellent communication skills; electrical qualifications are also desirable.

Due to the nature of this role, you must have a full, clean UK driving license and a valid CSCS card or equivalent.

PROJECTS

We currently have a vacancy for a Design Draughtsperson based at Devizes. This position will require the successful candidate to be capable of producing a variety of drawings using AutoCAD 2D and Inventor 3D. There will also be a requirement to use Advance Steel, though training will be given if and when required.

The role currently involves all aspects of drawing preparation for the Projects Division within T H WHITE Ltd, including good quality general arrangement and assembly drawings for tendering, design and installation; detail drawings for manufacture; process flow diagrams; specification drawings; planning permission drawings and “as built” drawings as required.

Other associated documents such as Lot Lists and drawing issue sheets are prepared using Microsoft Excel and Word.

Applicants should be familiar with structural steelwork and be able to work unaided to draw up concepts for supporting machines, and providing access around them. Familiarity with the British Standards relating to machinery access will be a big help, though not necessarily a requirement for the right candidate. However, being able to prepare manufacturing details of structural steelwork and items made from steel plate is a requirement.

From time to time there will be a need for the draughtsperson to visit customers’ sites to take measurements of existing equipment and civils.

This role will be salaried with the requirement to work extended hours during busy periods.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Bulk Material Handling Site Engineer to work on sites across the UK.

This is a very varied role, with tasks such as installation of bulk material handling plants, erection of steel work, pre-harvest servicing of grain driers, trouble shooting and repairs to damaged equipment, and preparing detailed reports and job sheets.

Knowledge of fuel oil burners, mechanical engineering, welding and a little knowledge of 3 phase motors would be an advantage, and experience with grain handling equipment (driers, cleaners, elevators etc.) is preferred.

In addition to relevant experience, the ideal candidate will have a Can Do Attitude, a proven track record of excellent customer service, and strong problem solving skills. As this role covers the UK, the successful applicant will be required to work away from home and at weekends on a regular basis.

A full UK driving licence, CSCS card, and IPAF licence are essential for this role, as is a good head for heights!

The role provides sales and aftermarket services to customers within a given geographical area with the aim of building long-term relationships with existing customers, new leads, suppliers, and colleagues across our business.

Key responsibilities include identifying and following-up on leads, maintaining relationships with existing customers, producing quotes, arranging machinery demonstrations, controlling and marketing second-hand stock, controlling cost and CRM, and Health and Safety.
